DewPoint 331 Register for Updates

The DewPoint 331 hay steamer will be used with two-string, three-string, and round balers.  For the past 3 years, we have been testing the new the DewPoint 331 and have moved the project into phase 3 for the 2021 hay season. Staheli West, Inc. has produced a significant, but still limited number of machines in 2021.  These machines are operating all throughout the Western U.S. 
We are expecting a full-production release of the small steamer in 2022. However, considering the supply chain issues faced by all suppliers and manufacturers, we are currently taking orders for 2022 machines.  We have already determined the number of units we will build for 2022 and are doing everything in our power to ensure we have the parts to build them.

There is nothing better than receiving a perfect natural dew when baling. However, perfect dew conditions are few and far between for many hay producers. Often, the hay is either too dry or too wet, and if you’re lucky, you may have a small window of opportunity when the hay is just right. Hay producers working in arid, dry climates are often faced with the decision to either bale dry hay, which will shatter the leaves, or continue to wait for natural dew, risking further loss of quality. Hay producers working in climates where it’s often too wet to bale at night or who receive good dew at night still experience large amounts of time during the day when the hay is too dry to bale. Being able to bale with steam when the hay is dry opens up the baling window and allows you to be so much more productive.
With steam, farmers can bale quality hay whenever their hay is dry, which increases their baling window and makes them more productive. One DewPoint-equipped baler can replace 3-4 conventional balers depending on local atmospheric conditions. That means less capital, fewer maintenance expenses, and lower labor costs. Replicated university studies have proven that mechanical leaf loss using the DewPoint is about 1/2 of the typical leaf loss which occurs when baling with good natural dew. The preservation of this valuable component of the forage can not only offset the operating costs of the DewPoint but also boost profitability. The DewPoint increases your hay value. Marketing is much easier when your bales are consistent from the first to the last. Your customers will know what to expect every time. With steam, a farmer can expect to have good bale compaction, increased leaf retention, and a bale that has good smell and color. Farmers with a DewPoint steamer can cut, rake, bale their hay and get the water back on their fields quicker, which adds valuable growing days when the weather is warmest. Added growing days means that farmers receive higher yields on their last cuttings.
